Society Limonta: Contacting the Essence of Color

Society Limonta launches its FW24 Collection “Con-tatto” together with its first ever fragrance line “The Essence of Color” at an exclusive luncheon at Lake Como

The day we went on a trip with Society Limonta was rainy, Lake Como was overcast with layers of clouds. It might not be the ideal weather to visit the lake, but once I stepped in the suite of Hilton Lake Como, I was amazed by how beautiful the view was. Through the floor to ceiling windows, soft mist shrouded the undulating mountains and raindrops dimpled the ink-colored lake. Everything is so serene and poetic, like a tranquil landscape painting.

Just as how the serene and poetic the view outside the window was, the presentation of Society Limonta hosted inside the suit echoed perfectly to this mood. On this special occasion, Society Limonta presented two captivating collections to welcome the new season: the “Con-tatto” Fall-Winter 2024 collection and “The Essence of Colour,” the brand’s first home fragrances line.

Born in 2000 insidet the renowned textile company Limonta 1893 Group, Society Limonta aims at revolutionizing household linen with a design twist. With over 130-years history, Limonta 1893 has long been, and still is at the forefront of textile innovation in the clothing and furnishing sectors worldwide. The heritage and expertise of the storied group nurture Society Limonta, presenting collections that are both aesthetic and functional season after season.

Driven by a philosophy of perpetual reinvention, Society Limonta never stands still. The use of exclusive fabrics, luxurious yarns, and unique shades aren’t just statements—they’re part of the brand’s continuous journey, where every creation is a new chapter. Techniques like garment dyeing, for instance, imbue each piece with an intentional individuality, embracing beautiful imperfections that make every design unique. And the idea dovetails with the Japanese aesthetics Wabi-Sabi, a world view centers on the acceptance of transience and imperfection, perfectly.

Placing in various rooms in the suite, the “Con-tatto” collection reimagines our living spaces with effortless sophistication. Spanning bedrooms, dining rooms, washroom and home accessories, the collection strikes a balance between traditional craftsmanship and modern sensibility, giving the timeless elegance with a contemporary touch. The rich color palette in plain, tie-die or pattern design enhances the collection’s appeal. Earthy hues like ALLORO, Henné, MALTO, and LUNA evoke warmth and refinement, while the bold accents of GINGER, MOSCATA, and GOJI infuse a dynamic energy. Soft, natural tones such as GEMMA  connect the designs to nature, grounding them in a serene, inviting atmosphere.

Stepping into the bedroom, duvet covers and pillowcases are adorned with arabesque floral motifs and artistic motifs immediately catch our attention. A selection of bed and couch throws extend this aesthetic, showcasing a variety of textures and materials that add warmth and depth to this intimate space.

The journey continues to the living room, where the MOTTO cushion welcomes us with maximum comfort. Crafted from cotton and linen velvet in seasonal colors and the classic Mastice shade, the cushion features a unique garment-dyed finish and contrasting trim for versatility. Dining tables are decorated with light, floral-abaca tablecloths and a bold linen checkerboard design. Cute little linen breadholders and napkins in monochrome complement the design, offering a delightful and cozy dining experience. Home accessories include the elegant PAL MELANGE cashmere scarf in neutral tones and the eye-catching PAL SQUARE scarf in a delicate plaid pattern, alongside the VRIZ tote bag, made of padded nylon in three sizes for a stylish yet practical travel companion.

With the idea of adding a new dimension to its distintive and celebrated aesthetic, Society Limonta further unveils “The Essence of Colour,” a captivating collection of ambient fragrances. These scents—Amber, Bergamot, Matcha Tea, Verbena, and Saffron—weave a seamless connection between the brand’s visual world of textiles and the allure of fragrance, delivering a truly immersive sensory experience that redefines the art of living. Each scent corresponds to a specific number and color from the brand’s archive, further intertwining the realms of color, texture, and aroma.

The event climaxed by an intimate luncheon featuring plates of Italian delicacies with a Japanese twist. From ingredients and culinary techniques to seasonings, all were vaguely echoing the idea of the fusion of Japanese aesthetic. An ikebana workshop after the lunch led the guests to experience the admiration to natural and imperfect beauty rooted in Japanese floral art culture, which was in perfect concert with Society Limonta’s collections. Maybe the gloomy weather made the lake day slightly imperfect, but this imperfection definitely highlighted the most perfect memory we shared together with Society Limonta.
